We are cabinetmakers, and that makes all the difference
Robin des Bois is a family-run cabinetmaking business, specialising in solid oak, based in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. From the dining room to the bedroom and the home office, every piece is hand-finished and sold directly, with no middlemen.
Designing, ordering, reselling, and somewhere along the way, losing touch with the material itself. These anonymous pieces of furniture, with solid wood as their default selling point, do not sit well with reality. The reality is that wood is alive, and a durable piece of furniture requires every material to be chosen in harmony with its intended use.
We know this because our furniture is made in our family workshops, where we have grown up for three generations, close to managed forests. We know every species, its grain, its character, and rather than following preconceived ideas, we put our expertise at your service, always choosing the right material for the right place.
Mastering the entire chain, from manufacturing to the customer, has become rare. But without intermediaries, the price remains fair, and when you deal with us, you are speaking to someone who truly knows what they are talking about.
Anonymous furniture? We leave that to others. Our furniture knows where it comes from, what kind of wood it is made from, and where it will come to life: in your home.
Craftsmanship
Solid oak has an established reputation, but for a piece of furniture to live up to its promises, the right materials must be used in the right places.
Solid wood can truly shine in a tabletop that lives and evolves, one you want to feel developing its patina beneath your hands. But when you want the body of a sideboard or a large surface to remain perfectly stable in twenty years, you need to build differently.
Each patina, each finish is then worked by hand, piece by piece, for a result built to stand the test of time. Because what makes a piece of furniture irreplaceable is simply that you won't have to replace it.

Our conviction is simple: to limit its environmental impact, a piece of furniture must not be designed as a disposable product. Everything we do is guided by this commitment to durability: wood selected for its ability to stand the test of time, joinery designed to last, and finishes made to develop a beautiful patina rather than simply wear out.
Oak, pine, rubberwood and acacia: all our woods come from plantation forests — trees cultivated and renewed for this purpose, harvested at maturity, and never taken from primary forests. A large proportion of our pieces carry FSC® certification, and all of our wood is sourced according to the same principles, selected for its density and durability, and crafted with the same level of care, with no compromise on either the origin or the quality of the material.
As cabinetmakers committed to protecting our resources and preserving our heritage, we see this traceability as a natural commitment — one we have upheld for three generations.
A Legacy
The craftsmanship we carry forward today comes from our grandparents, then our parents, who passed the trade down to us, hand to hand, at the workbench. Robin des bois was born this way, from a family with a deep love for a demanding material, and enriched by the meeting of French and Vietnamese craftsmanship.
Our family workshops are located in the heart of Vietnam, world-renowned for its expertise in woodworking, while our warehouses are near Poitiers, where our roots also lie.
We are proud to outsource nothing, so that we can carry forward ourselves, all the way through to customer service, our heritage and our commitments.
Our Story →Robin des Bois & You.
People can say many things, but the fairest thing is to listen to you.
“The furniture is truly high-quality and built to last, while being easy to maintain. The quality and service are outstanding, far beyond what you find with mass-market furniture retailers. […] If, like me, you are allergic to flat-pack furniture, you’ve come to the right place!”
“The furniture is absolutely beautiful, with an impeccable and original design. […] It was extremely well packaged (with wooden reinforcements!), and all delivered in record time. It’s hard to find anything better at the same price.”
“After hesitating to order our table without seeing it ‘in person’, we are absolutely delighted. The table is excellent quality and looks exactly like the pictures on the website, even in terms of the colour. Everything was perfect from A to Z: excellent customer service, very careful packaging, and fast delivery!”
A service you can rely on
We oversee every step of the production process through to delivery, so that ordering online is never a gamble.
```No flat-pack furniture.
Your furniture arrives fully assembled and protected by reinforced packaging designed specifically for transporting solid wood. Sometimes only a minimal step is required, such as attaching screw-on legs, and in the very rare cases where actual assembly is necessary, everything is clearly stated on the product page.
A delivery that delivers.
We entrust your orders to carriers who specialise in furniture delivery. Delivery takes place within 3 to 7 working days, and your furniture is carefully delivered to the ground floor, or upstairs as an optional service.
Time to take your time.
Your furniture is covered by a two-year warranty, and once it arrives, if you are still unsure, you have 14 days to change your mind, with a money-back guarantee. Our interest-free 3-installment payment option gives you time, too.
Customer service that puts customers first.
A question before you buy, or advice after delivery? We put the same level of care into supporting our customers as we do into making our furniture: +33 (0)9 86 33 85 85.
See it. Feel it. Experience it.
A beautiful piece of furniture makes you want to touch it; a beautiful armchair makes you want to sit in it. In our showroom near Futuroscope (A10 motorway exit), come and discover our pieces, feel the grain of the wood, and leave with our advice — or with your new furniture.
